The strudel

The strudel is a typical cake of South Tyrol, well known and appreciated.

The origins of this sweet are very old, it is a cake of Turkey, then over the centuries has spread and taken root in South Tyrol, becoming the cake for excellence in these zones.

The ingredients of Strudel are simple and genuine: apples, raisins, cinnamon, sugar, "pasta frolla" or browse, according to the recipe.

The trick of his goodness lies in the goodness of its ingredients and in this the good apples South Tyrol certainly help!

The strudel is excellent accompanied by a good hot cup of tea, perhaps of fruit or a cup of milk.

The variations possible for this sweet are many.

Some people prefer only strudel with apples, but whoever added pears, walnuts, almonds, pine nuts. The cinnamon there is almost always, also because it is what gives this sweet aroma that  reminds us of the origins of this wonderful sweet.
