Provincial Museum at Trautmannsdorff Castle
Meran
The Touriseum is the first museum in the Alps devoted exclusively and comprehensively to tourism. It shows things alternately from the point of view of the locals and the guests, how tourism came to Tyrol, and how it has changed the region and its inhabitants. The approach is amusing, entertaining and witty. Special features such as rock faces, models, a mechanical theatre, carved wooden figures (including 15 life-size), sounds and films contribute to an entertaining tour. Visitors will find information at the multimedia point, entertainment with the South Tyrol game, opportunity to play in the children’s corner and something to make them laugh in the “Jokes” turret. The visitor will not leave the Touriseum tired and bored, but stimulated and pleasantly surprised.

Typewriter Museum Partischns
Meran-Partschins
The evolution of the typewriter is among the most interesting chapters of the history of technology. Without this means of technical assistance, our economic, cultural, and private life as we know it would be unimaginable. The collection of the Typewriter Museum includes over 900 objects from 1864 to 1980, of which around 300 are on display. Particular attention is paid to the inventor of the typewriter, Peter Mitterhofer (1822-1893) from Partschins (Parcines), to whom the community of Partschins dedicated this museum in 1997.

Schenna Castle
Meran
The history of Schenna Castle dates back nearly 650 years. The museum is dedicated to the history of Tyrol with the central topics being Archduke Johann and Andreas Hofer. In addition, there are various collections: from medieval weapons to 17th cen. firearms to French cannons, and rich exhibits of furniture and paintings from the original furnishings

Passeier Museum
Passeier
A new museum has been inaugurated at the Sandhof, the family inn of the Tyrolean freedom fighter Andreas Hofer (1767-1810). The figure of Andreas Hofer and the Tyrolean battle for freedom in 1809 form the main thematic points of a documentary film and many original exhibitions. A comprehensive collection of Passeier Valley folklore is housed in the former barn. A listening room offers individual access to the music, legends, folktales, and literature of the valley.
