Diocesan Museum
Brixen
Diocesan Museum displays a selection of the sacred art of South Tyrol. It houses the well-known Nativity collection and parts of the treasure collection belonging to Brixen Cathedral, including the famous Adlerkasel. The collection of medieval sculpture and panel painting is the most comprehensive in the South Tyrol and is particularly worth seeing.

Augustinian Abbey of Neustift

Being one of the most important monasteries in Tyrol, the Abbey is worth seeing because of the famous ceiling frescos, the medieval cloister and the tomb of the troubadour Oswald v. Wolkenstein. But especially the library shows some of the most precious manuscripts of the region.

Mineralogical Museum of Teis

The collection of mineralogist Paul Fischnaller includes over 200 geodes from Teis, a variety of rock crystals, and other minerals from the Alpine area. As an introduction, a video on the formation of minerals is shown

South Tyrol Museum of Mining
Schneeberg area/Ridnaun
On the Schneeberg mountain, the highest mine in Europe has been nearly completely preserved. Also unique in all of Europe is therefore the comprehensive view of 800 years of lasting mining history. In Ridnaun, the exhibition shaft shows the ore removal methods from the Middle Ages up to the present day. Here, the original equipment from the 1920s, which is still capable of functioning today, provides a realistic impression of the ore preparation. The history of mining and the life of the miners are documented in the worker's residence. The visit turns into an adventure with a seven hour tour by day or a complete day tour (ten hours) on the Schneeberg mountain.

Museum of Hunting and Fishing - Wolfsthurn Castle
The mighty Wolfsthurn Castle towers above the village of Mareit (Mareta). Since 1996 it has been the home of the South Tyrol Museum of Hunting and Fishing, a branch of the Provincial Museum of Ethnography in Dietenheim (Teodone). A path of around 1 km. (2/3 mile) on the topic of woods and water leads from the village to the castle.
