Finding the right restaurant with Gourmet-guides

Sometimes it isn’t easy to find a good restaurant, where everything is ok. When the food is good, the service is bad and when service and food are fine the ambience isn’t. Two new gourmet-guides make the searching for good restaurants much easier.

Gault Millau and L’Espresso – two very famous gourmet-guides – had publicized their 2008 editions about restaurants in South Tyrol. Both agreed that the Restaurant Hubertus – Hotel Rosalpina in St. Kassian. It was awarded with 3 bonnets (18 from 20 possible points).

The two guides paid also much attention to the Restaurant Kuppelrain in Kastelbell and to the Restaurant Trenkerstube in Hotel Castel in Dorf Tirol. The Kuppelrain Restaurant gets the "Ambience Award" for the well thought out flair and the competent service, which top the culinary experience. The Trenkersube however was priced for its competence, for the gentleness of the service-team and for its professionalism.

Also the South Tyrolean wines are graded very well. There are 52 first-class wines with a score of 17 -18,5 points. The highest score gets the Terlan Sauvignon Quarz 2005 from Terlan wine cellars and thr Riesling Castel Juval Windblichel 2005 from Untorl wine-cellar.
